“Thank you so much for the wonderful care my son received during his wisdom teeth removal. From the surgeons to all the nurses involved, everyone was incredibly kind, professional, and reassuring throughout the entire process. It truly made what could have been a stressful experience so much easier. We’re very grateful—thank you for such a positive experience.”

I have spent 4 years on a wait list for wisdom teeth removal. 1 year added because the emergency triage 'forgot' to refer me to the maxillofacial unit. Another year wait list after being viewed by the mf unit. Tried to call emergency line last month for a dental abcess and was hung up on 5 times between 4PM-5PM without any answers to my call, and then subsequently left on hold from 5:06PM to 6:30PM. At this stage 4 of my molars are heavily damaged and require root canals after the impact of the wisdom teeth and frequent infections, apparently they are unable to provide root canal service for back molars and neither is the dental training team. I now have over $6000 worth of private dental work needing to be done because of the clinical negligence and another "few months" waiting for the removal of my impacted wisdom teeth. This wait has completely destroyed my teeth. I have had to threaten calling Ahphra and the HCC just to get them to do their job and book my appointment and it's still not being prioritised after all of this time. The reception are extremely rude and they don't care about your wellbeing whatsoever. I requested access to my x-rays as well as a referral to a private clinic 3 separate times over the last 2 years so that I could address these issues quicker and only today after speaking with the lead clinician is it being sent to me. (or so they say, I have still yet to receive a date for my appointment or my x-rays) I will definitely be following through with my reports to both bodies for clinical misconduct.

We ended up at the Royal Dental Hospital after a second visit to have a tooth extracted and I honestly couldn’t be more impressed. We arrived early and were seen within just two hours, which was fantastic. Mandy, the dentist and Antoniet the dental assistant, were absolutely amazing. My partner tends to gag quite easily during dental procedures, but not once did he feel uncomfortable or gag — they handled everything with such care and professionalism. The extraction itself was smooth and stress-free and partner is now home resting comfortably. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone needing dental care. Thank you again to Mandy and Antoniet for such a great experience.

What an excellent Dental Emergency Hospital we have in Victoria. We arrived just before 8am and were seen and finished by lunchtime. It was busy due to school holidays but you can’t help when you have an emergency. The staff are lovely downstairs where you get triaged, upstairs is more confusing but it all works somehow. If you want to get there early you will avoid a massive wait!

Fire alarm went off during my procedure. Long wait times and lack of administrative efficiency post operation. Spent more time waiting for the bill than I did for the procedure. They need a better playlist for during the operation, if I have to sit there for 2 hours, the music better be good.

We had an emergency visit to The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne on 27 January 2026 after my son, Hari Patel, broke his tooth in an accident. As parents, we were extremely worried because the tooth was split in half, and we had no idea what the outcome would be. From the moment we arrived, we felt we were in the hands of an exceptional team. Nicole, the Senior Dentist, led the entire treatment plan with great professionalism and care. She worked incredibly hard and showed remarkable dedication to saving Hari’s tooth. Her expertise and calm approach gave us confidence during a very stressful situation. Antoniet, the senior nurse, provided outstanding support throughout the procedure. She was an amazing team player—always one step ahead, anticipating exactly what was needed next. Her energy, attention to detail, and kindness helped keep the atmosphere positive and reassuring for both our son and our family during a long surgical process. We are also very grateful to Andrew, the Chief of Senior Dentists. He went above and beyond by offering his expertise and helping us avoid the need for a plastic surgeon consultation. His motivation, leadership, and willingness to take on difficult challenges truly impressed us. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank this incredible team and all the staff at The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne. Because of your hard work, compassion, and professionalism, you were able to bring my son’s smile back. We will always be grateful for the care and kindness you showed our family. Thank you so much.

The emergency clinic is an absolute God send. Understandably the hold time when calling is long but it is a much needed service. I was given an appointment within two days. All staff i interacted with were so patient and kind, especially when I couldn't think straight with my tooth pain. I have a shocking memory when it comes to names but my dentist and his assistant were amazing. Great bedside manner, knowledgeable and patient. My tooth extraction went incredibly well. I can't give this clinic enough praise. The parking garages were completely full but was able to find on-street parking relatively easily. 2 hours for $8. There is also a tram stop not far from the entry.

Nicola a student in the orthodontist field was the best from the start of my braces journey to the end. She made me feel exited coming back each month for a tightening, they are always there for whether you need an emergency or a question. I will definitely be going to her when she opens her own clinic.
